China and the Chinese Village
of the Popular Culture
China is made up with 56 etnical groups. This variety
has caused so many styles and architectures, a multitude
of ethnical festivals and one of the most varied cuisines.
This village is the first place in China which includes
different cultures. It has got an area of 200,000 square
metres and houses people belonging to the all ethnical
groups.

Here you will find hundreds of artists reproducing the
classical Western paintings besides their original works.
Artists have the opportunity of working alongside known
artists and visitors have the opportunity of having
a look at the Chinese flourishing artistic panorama.
Dapeng Fortress
This old fortress is also known as the Guardian
Dapeng of the One Thousand families in town and
it is a huge building dating back to 1394, built by
the Ming dynasty. It is situated in the city pf Dapeng
and gives to Shenzhen the name of Peng City. Most of
the fortress has been destroyed over years, but visitors
have the opportunity of imagining how life in Shenzhen
could be in the 14th century.
Shenzhen Xianhu Botanic
Garden
These splendid gardens are situated in a a very large
park in the open air and have got a pagoda and a very
beautiful fall. It is the ideal place for spending a
relaxing day in the nature. Here you can see a variety
of tropical plants and flowers.
Shiyan Lake Hot Spring Resort
If you want to escape from the confusion of Shenzhen,
you will be surprised to find out that it is possible
without leaving the centre of the city. This peaceful
resort lies at at the foot of the Qilin Mountain in
the Quarter of Nanshan. It is considered one of the
best preserved natural areas in Shenzhen and has got
thermal waters, splendid flowers ( in the Spring) and
picturesque falls. The lake in the middle of this resort
is surrounded by an imperial architecture and offers
the opportunity of doing water sports besides being
a perfect place for picnicking. There is a corridor
which surrounds the lake built for protecting the path.
The Xili Pagoda and the Pavilion of the Qilin Mountain
offer a panoramic view of the whole resort.
Splendid China
This popular attraction is one of the best ones in Shenzhen.
It is really a miniature of China with copies of the
historical Chinese buildings, scenes and costumes. The
models are reproduced from a close perspective and big
with a ratio 1:15 and placed according to their geographical
positions. Great attention has been given to details
in order to be sure that all copies really represent
the original masterpieces. The whole exhibition space
is surrounded by luxuriant gardens and houses over 50,000
figures from baked clay.
The panoramic Area exhibits the models of Warriors and
terracotta horses found in the city of Xian; copies
of sections of the Big Wall: the Prohibited City, the
Old Summer Palace;The Old Observatory of Beijing; the
Mogao Caves of Dunhuang and the Potala palace in Tibet.
In the area where the copy of the river Li lies, visitors
are surrounded by waters and mountainous gardens which
make it the ideal place for sitting and having a relaxing
pause in contemplation.
Window of the World
This attraction allows visitors to travel around the
world in one day. It is a big park which covers 480,000
square metres with a very beautiful landscape and splendid
effects of nocturnal light. Inside you can go up a mini
Eiffel Tower, to get inspiration from the copy of the
Egyptian pyramids, to see the Tower of Pisa, the Taj
Mahal, the Grand Canyon and other wonders of the world.
To go on a tour of the city
and take advantage of your journey at best. The local
tour operators organize visits to the main attractions,
leaving you always the pleasure of travelling, without
any worries as regards transports or the possibility
of missing something. You can book one, two or three
daily tours, which include transportation from your
hotel and the visit of attractions. Drinks and lunch
are usually included in the price.Rent a bike to visit
the town. China is a country where you can generally
ride a bike without problems and Shenzhen is not an
exception. In this way you can explore the city and
stop where you like. It is easy to find your way in
tiwn and if you follow the bike route markings you will
not get lost.
Taste the local dishes
with their gastronomical delicacies. The cuisine in
Shenzhen is a mixture of the different cuisines in the
country together with some local herbs and spices. You
will find a selection of cold meat served with hot and
spicy noodles; a variety of snacks sold in the street
for whom wants to dare.
